The Collector

I’m happy the collector is such a fan of my work…

From the WaPo Reliable Source column…

“It was a red wooden box. Inside: another manifesto, this one calling for support of local artists — and blasting D.C. galleries, collectors and critics who pay more attention to the international scene. It’s a complaint we’ve often heard from Artomatic denizens.

Also: five little handmade cards in the style of Monopoly’s “Community Chest” that single out some of The Collector’s local faves — painters Jeff Wilson and Scott Brooks, sculptor Aaron Quinn Brophy, Long View Gallery and Gallery Neptune.”

Duo show with Candace Keegan and Emily Greene Liddle at Aroma

Opening reception is Thursday, June 5th 7-10pm

This will be a great show so c’mon out. My good friends Candy and Emily were part of Art in Heat from last summer, as well as Artomatic and Art Whino. Aroma is a cool little place as well. See you there!

Opening Night pics

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to the show. It was a really great night. I talked briefly with most everyone, and we all had a bit more quality time after the show at Vegetate. Thanks especially to Drew and Larissa for doing such a great job setting up the show and getting the word out. Thanks also to Brandon and Candace for their video, and lastly, my family and Mike. The show is now online here and here.

I’ve uploaded pics from the evening to my Flickr account, check them out. Here’s just a sample.

This coming weekend it’s Open Studios for the Mid-City Artists. Long View Gallery will be taking the place of my studio and I’ll be there both days. Maps and info on the artists are available on the Mid City Artists website.
