“Self Portrait in Bed with a Dead Girl and a Live Boy”

This is a piece I have been wanting to do for many years. It finally all came together for this show. It’s based on a quote by Edwin Washington Edwards (August 7, 1927 – July 12, 2021) He was an American politician and while running for Louisiana Governor in 1983 he boasted “The only way I can lose this election is if I’m caught in bed with either a dead girl or a live boy.
It’s been a few years since I’ve done a large self portrait but I knew that this quote would be the basis for one.
All models shall remain anonymous. None were harmed in the making of this painting and all participants were over the age of 18.
