Uncle John’s “Under the Slimy Sea”

Under the Slimy Sea is another book I illustrated this past spring. I received my complimentary copies in the mail yesterday, and it looks great! It was a really fun project to work on. I finished this one, as well as the 2 books in the previous post, in just a couple months. It was crazy.

The book is now available on Amazon.com. And here’s the description from the Bathroom Reader website:

It’s a whole other world down here!

  • Turtle Traffic Jams
  • Great Balls of Snot
  • Surfin’ Snails
  • The Schoolboy Sailor
  • Globsters
  • Speed Shark
  • Rubber Duckies Overboard!
  • …and loads more!

Here are a few of my favorite illustrations from the project:

New Children’s Books on Amazon.com

The two books I illustrated this past spring are up on Amazon.com. The first is Flour Girl, a companion book to The Ring Bear, which came out a few years back.

The other is Ned Loses His Head, the first of a series of Ned books. Both were written by David Michael Slater. You can learn more about David and see all the books he’s written on his website.

Here’s a sample of Ned:

And here’s one from the Ring Bear. More of my illustrations for children are on my other website.

Interview with Matt Sesow

It’s been great getting to know Matt Sesow these past few years. We’ve been in several shows together, and we always have a good time. He’s one of the few DC artists who’s successful showing and selling his work outside the DC area, which is important if you plan on doing this for a living. He and Dana Ellyn also just finished another round of 31 Days in July. Congrats!
