I started a new series this past summer called “Happy Place.” Four of those paintings will be featured in “Autumn’s Delight” at Distinction Gallery, which is just north of San Diego. Several other recent paintings and drawings will be included as well. I’ll be showing with two other artists, Marie Barr and Andy Haynes. I’ll be flying in for the opening reception on Saturday, October 11. So stop by if you’re in the San Diego area. All the details are below.
The main character of the “Happy Place” series is the beautiful but troubled Alice. She has long been a muse for the ages, and here she finds herself challenged by both new and familiar demons. The “Happy Place” she knows so well has changed and is now controlled by a dysfunctional and dangerous administration. It’s unknown if she–or her cherished “Happy Place”–will survive.

Distinction Gallery Presents:
“Autumn’s Delight”
A tri-artist showing by Scott G Brooks, Andy Haynes and Marie Barr that runs from October 11th – November 1st.
Distinction Gallery strives to bring the brightest and most unique artists to the Southern California region and will expose its latest finds in a three artist showing entitled, “Autumn’s Delight”. The displays share a common theme in the artist’s ability to portray the human character while all showing an appreciation for surrealism and the importance of narrative in painted works. All three of the artists will be attending the opening reception on Saturday, October 11th from 6-11 PM and will be on hand to answer questions and talk about their art. Music, beer and wine will highlight this event so we hope you will join us in this intense tri-artist showing.
The entire “Autumn’s Delight” exhibition will be available for viewing through Saturday, November 1st. Distinction Gallery will also be featuring the “Sub 1K” Gallery with works priced for less than $1000 featuring renowned artists from around the world. “The Alley” will show an additional 30+ artists. All in addition to the 14 artist studios featuring 16 local artists. Also, please feel free browse our new collection of art books and toys we have for purchase and don’t hesitate to inquire about Distinction’s custom framing services.
Please contact the gallery at (760) 781-5779 if you would like high-res images or to set a possible interview with any of the artists.
